Wound Care Evaluation
For a normal, healthy individual, there is little benefit to increasing the level of oxygen in the body. However, individuals who need vital wound care and treatment may benefit from increased levels of oxygen and HBOT Therapy. A physician at the Crittenton Wound Healing Center will evaluate your wound and determine the best course of treatment for your specific situation.

Potential Signs For HBOT Wound Care In Southeast Michigan
Some potential Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy candidates are people with:

- Skin wounds that have not shown improvement in four weeks of treatment
- Bone and skin infections
- Radiation injures
- Compromised or failing skin grafts
- Skin flaps
Adjunctive Therapy Options
To provide the most comprehensive wound care management solutions, the Crittenton Wound and Healing Center provides a number of adjunctive therapies. Depending on the severity of the situation, patients may be a candidate for one of the following adjunctive therapies:
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): HBOT therapy is a form of wound care treatment that increases the amount of oxygen in the patient's blood, allowing oxygen to pass more easily through the plasma into the wounds to heal them.
Negative Pressure Therapy (Wound Vac): A non-invasive therapy that uses controlled and localized negative pressure to stimulate the growth of healthy granulation tissue.
Biologicals and Biosynthetics: Gels or solutions derived from natural sources which are applied to the wound base to stimulate wound healing.
Bio-Engineered Skin Substitutes: Tissue of human origin or bio-engineered tissue is used to support wound closure and serve as a replacement for skin and surgical grafting. A bio-engineered skin substitute closely resembles human skin in structure, function and handling.
Growth Factor Therapy: Research has determined that proteins which occur naturally in the body are integral in stimulating cell growth and migration, necessary for wound care.
